Togonan Falls of Brgy. Marayag, Mainit, Surigao del Norte

I know that there are a lot of people who would want to visit this newly developed natural attraction but there's not a lot of info on the net on how to get there, only pictures of the place. That is the reason why I made this clip - to help / guide people on how to get to Togonan Falls of Brgy. Marayag, Mainit, Surigao del Norte! You're welcome, by the way! :D

How to Get There -
Option 1: Naog sa rotonda / entrance ng Magpayang, then u can ride a habal2x going to the falls.
Option 2: Suyod sa Magpayang, diretsoha lang ang dalan, then turn to the rough road on your right, just BEFORE the fork road (as shown in Google Maps on the opening part of my video). If u don't have a car, there are also habal2x's (one way fare is P50.00) waiting to take you to the falls as you turn right :D Then subaya ra ang dayan / just go straight ahead and be prepared for a bumpy ride of about 3 kilometers until you reach Brgy. Marayag's Gym (this is the landmark that tells you you're super close to the entrance). When you reach Marayag's Gym, you then TURN LEFT to where the flags are... Then boom! Before you know it, you're already at the entrance.

How's the road going there? Well, as of now it is still a rough road. Don't bring a car that has a low clearance to the ground as huge rocks from the road will only damage/scratch it's under chassis... Only bring pick-up trucks, motorcycles, SUVs or even a mountain bike (if you dare)! :D Better yet just go ride the habal2x hehehe ^_^ Also there is a part of the road that's narrow (only one lane) so goodluck if two cars going the opposite direction pass by it at the same time! o_O

Overall, it's a really nice place! Very refreshing! I highly recommend you ride the bamboo raft (it's FREE) and get close to the waterfalls and have the biggest shower / best back massage of your life hehehe. Super nag enjoy jod ko. What is, tagaw og waterfalls! lol Finally, a powerful waterfalls that's close to Surigao City! :D Kudos for developing this place! I hope the road going to Togonan Falls will be widened and cemented soon. And I hope more of Surigao / Caraga's natural attractions will be developed soon... :D

Togonan Falls FYI - The waterfalls is said to be around 70 feet high! Whoa! And is only a 1 hour drive from Surigao City! :) What are you waiting for? GO na people!!! Also, it is said that there are 300 easy steps going down the waterfalls proper. but you wont be able to mind it because of exciting feelings to see the falls.

Chocolate Hills of Bohol Philippines

The Chocolate Hills are located on the Island of Bohol. They are over 1,200 hills, covering over 50 km² and get their name because the grass which covers the hills turns brown during the dry season. The hills are almost all conical in shape and made of limestone. Many people have believed that they were human creations. Geologists are not entirely sure how they were created. Theories include erosion of limestone, volcanic uplift, and accretion of limestone around basalt fragments from a volcanic eruption. The government of the Philippines has declared it one of their flagship tourist destinations. The Chocolate Hills are so central to the people of Bohol, they appear on the flag of the province.

Tubbataha Reef

Located in the middle of the Sulu Sea, Tubbataha Reef is one of the largest and best preserved reef systems in the world. Actually composed to two atolls, Tubbataha is far removed from any human settlement, it is a 92 mile boat trip from the city of Puerto Princessa. The marine park covers over 968 km² and is home to over 300 coral species and 400 fish species, rivaling the diversity of the Great Barrier Reef. The few pieces of atoll which are above water are also home to a large number of seabirds. It was inscribed on the UNESCO list of World Heritage sites in 1993.

Help Banawe Rice Terraces

The Banawe Rice Terraces is officially off the list of world heritage sites in danger, the United Nations Information Center in Manila said Wednesday.

In 1995, the Rice Terraces was included in the World Heritage List "as an outstanding cultural landscape" but was put on the Danger List in 2000.

Farmer said Ifugao Rice Terraces have become endangered because of earthworms and rats that burrow along the walls of the rice paddies. Typhoons have also contributed to the destruction.

Mining activities in the area also posed threats

New Ant Species Discovered in Philippines

About 40 new species of ants have been discovered in the Philippines, ant researcher David General and his colleagues recently announced.
The previously unknown species belong to 11 different genera, the taxonomic classification above species. That brings the total genera (the plural of genus) found in the country to 92, which is nearly a third of the total described worldwide.
General and colleagues conducted their collections at a reforested study site in 2003 and 2004 on Luzon Island. Trees here had been cut down to grow corn 27 years before, but the area had already recovered its populations of native ants when the team visited, he said. When General returned in 2009, though, all the trees in the area had been cut down and removed again, even the stumps. "It's like I was in the wrong place," he said.
This individual species have yet to be named and described.

Lawigan Beach

Lawigan Beach is a truly beautiful beach located at Barangay, Lawigan, Mangagoy, Bislig City. Just 1hr. away from the city itself. It is our most popular tourist destination after the Tinuy-an Falls and is also a big favourite destination with local people too. With pure white sand and crystal clear blue Pacific Ocean waters it rivals all the better known beaches in the Philippines.

Potipot Island

Potipot is an island off the shore of Candelaria in Zambales. The island is a very small patch of land with white sand and surrounded by gentle waters. It is easily reached by a 5-hour drive and a 5-minute boat trip from mainland Zambales.

Hagonoy Island

Hagonoy Island is one of Bislig City’s pride. It’s a pearl shaped island facing the Pacific Ocean. This island beach resort was perfectly isolated 3 kilometers from the mainland. Found in the middle of Bislig bay, Hagonoy Island is a thirty minutes pumpboat ride from the mainland or from Mangagoy wharf. It is not a large island and you can go around the whole area in 15 to 20 minutes.
This place is truly a pacific haven, a perfect place for tropical getaway. Its powdery white sand and crystal blue water would spellbind you that you’ll forget your name.

Nuestra Senora del Rosario Parish

The Nuestra Señora del Rosario parish of Antequera was founded in 1880. The church by this date was of tabique pampango and other light material.

The present church at Antequera is new and unremarkable but people go to Antequera to experience a different kind of heritage: traditional basketry. Basketry is an ancient art form, archaeologists theorize that basket making preceded weaving.
