THE SAILING STONES
THE SAILING STONES , also referred to as sliding rocks or moving rocks, are a geological puzzling phenomenon found in California, Death Valley. These rocks, some as heavy as 300 Kilograms, are mysteriously transported across a virtually flat desert plain without human or animal intervention, leaving erratic trails in the hard mud behind them, some hundreds of yards long. They move by some mysterious force, and in the nine decades since we have known about them, no-one has ever seen them in motion.
Ancient Sea Monsters-Sea Serpents
Oarfish, also known as ribbonfish and king of herrings, is a deep water creature that can grow up to a size of 50 feet (15 meters) in length and weigh up to 600 pounds (272 kg). This deep sea creature is officially the longest bony fish living at a depth of between 66 feet and 1000 feet. It is known that when oarfish gets sick or is near to death it comes on the surface of the water and sometimes to the shore, that’s why we have ancient tales of seeing sea serpents coming out of the water surface. A 16 feet oarfish that was found on the shore of Bermuda beach in 1860 was described as sea serpent (image below). There are no scales on the fish and it’s not edible due to its gelatinous flesh.

Buwayang Lolong (giant crocodile)
Lolong, the buwaya, was named after the veteran Filipino crocodile hunter Ernesto “Lolong” Coñate, who lead the capture of the giant crocodile. Coñate was called to the Agusan Marsh to capture crocodile Lolong after it was reported that the crocodile killed a schoolgirl and a fisherman.
Lolong was captured in the town of Bunawan in the province of Agusan del Sur. The town is a second class municipality wherein some part of the Agusan Marsh is located. Agusan Marsh is the habitat of various animals, including the Lolong and other buwaya.

Lawigan Beach
Lawigan Beach is a truly beautiful beach located at Barangay, Lawigan, Mangagoy, Bislig City. Just 1hr. away from the city itself. It is our most popular tourist destination after the Tinuy-an Falls and is also a big favourite destination with local people too. With pure white sand and crystal clear blue Pacific Ocean waters it rivals all the better known beaches in the Philippines.
Potipot Island
Potipot is an island off the shore of Candelaria in Zambales. The island is a very small patch of land with white sand and surrounded by gentle waters. It is easily reached by a 5-hour drive and a 5-minute boat trip from mainland Zambales.
Hagonoy Island
Hagonoy Island is one of Bislig City’s pride. It’s a pearl shaped island facing the Pacific Ocean. This island beach resort was perfectly isolated 3 kilometers from the mainland. Found in the middle of Bislig bay, Hagonoy Island is a thirty minutes pumpboat ride from the mainland or from Mangagoy wharf. It is not a large island and you can go around the whole area in 15 to 20 minutes.
This place is truly a pacific haven, a perfect place for tropical getaway. Its powdery white sand and crystal blue water would spellbind you that you’ll forget your name.

Saur the Dog King of Norway
Ever since ancient times, kings have come in all types: brave kings, not so brave kings, and dogs. A dog as king? Yes, it is true. During eleventh century Europe, the nation of Norway had a dog as its king. His name was Saur. It may be unusual for a dog to hold such a lofty title, even if it was only for a brief period of three years.
